Hi there and welcome to our Friday release!
I’m getting a chapter of Ruby Doll out to you guys since it’s been since December since we last released a chapter of this project. Be REALLY grateful to hkgaines for this one because she took the time out of her busy qc’ing schedule to edit a chapter of this.
I want to thank all of you who left comments for us this week, there were more than usual. I’d also like to address a couple of the comments that I got that concerned the editing staff. First off, we have a great editing team. Unfortunately, for the 50 or so projects that our group has (that we’ve been trying to dwindle down without dropping them completely) I have 3 editors who do nothing but edit. One of those editors had her computer break down recently and she was the one who was cranking out the most projects. So she’s not slacking off, just be patient until she can get the money to get it fixed (unless you guys are going to offer to pay for the repairs, lol).
Anyway, editing takes a lot of time to do and if you’re not interested in the story, then it takes that much longer because it’s easy to lose focus. I mean, how many of you start a story and find that you don’t like it, so you don’t finish it and move onto something better? Well, it’s the same here. The editors, translators, proofreaders are going to crank out the projects that they like to read, not what you like, sorry to say. That’s why I’m trying to get editors who are interested in specific projects. But without help, the projects will get stalled until someone has enough time or patience to work on a chapter here and there.
Also, thank you to all those who have contacted me about applying for editing and translating positions. I know there is a lot of confusion as to what an editor is in the scanlating world because when you find out you need photoshop and that you clean and typeset the scans I never hear back from you. *chuckles* For those of you who are reading this and have thought about applying, but don’t know, being an editor is not like in the real world, as I’ve explained above. Real world editors are similar to proofreaders in scanlating. So if proofreading is what you want to do, then I suggest heading over to Mangaupdates scanlation group recruitment section or anywhere else where you can find recruitment places from all the scanlation sites, and contact a group looking for a proofreader. All the groups are looking for help in some way, so don’t be shy.
We’ve also put our donation button back up. We could use some help so that we can get more volumes like Fated to Love You volume 3 and Shitsuji-sama no Okiniiri volume 10 as well as help pay for the server. The goal is $25 a month, so if anyone could help out it would be greatly appreciated.
Anyway, now that I’ve made my long and boring speech, please enjoy the release for today. I’ll be back again next week for another release and please… keep the comments coming. I do read them at least once a week.
We are still in need of Japanese translators for the following projects:
Japanese Translator
Beast Harem (smut)
Projects in dire need of editors:
Anata e no Tsuki
Dancing Baby Karin
Fated to Love You
Heartland no Juunin
Kami no Na wa
Lady Victorian
Me and My Ainia
Prism Baby
Shitsuji-sama no Okiniiri
Just to name a few… Please help if you’d like to see these projects released faster.
If any of you are interested in helping us out, please email me at esthetiquestaff@gmail.com or go to the join us page above and download and complete the test for that position and send it back to me.
Also, as a reminder, we have a 3 day waiting period for hosting our projects. So please do not upload our projects to other hosting sites until the waiting period is over. Thanks.
