*Please note, everything about our site is volunteer based. No one is paid. If you are looking for a job with a manga company, do not look for pay from scanlation (fan-based) sites. Approach a major publishing company or licensor (i.e. Viz) from your country.

In General, to Apply for Staff:
Read the descriptions of the position you’re interested in and see if you can fulfill our requirements and fit us into your schedule. Take the corresponding test for the position that you’re interested in.

Types of Languages: Chinese, Japanese, and Korean
Job Description: Translate the manga/manhua/manhwa from the language you know into English. If the language that you know is not listed above, that means that we are not looking for that kind of translator at the moment. You need to have an excellent command of the language you are translating from and have a working command of English.
Responsibilities: Translate a chapter every 2 and a half weeks.
Open Projects: A LOT
To Apply: Complete the corresponding translating test for that language that you’re interested in translating. Send your test as an attachment to esthetiquestaff@gmail.com.

Editors [OPEN]
Job Description: Clean the raws via cloning, redrawing, etc. using Photoshop. Typeset the script and add the SFX. We do not break down the editing jobs into cleaners, cloners and typesetters.
Responsibilities: Edit a chapter and turn it in every 2 and a half weeks.
Open Projects: A LOT
To Apply: Take the editing test. Zip up your PSDs in a folder. Upload it to a hoster (i.e. mediafire) or make it an attachment to an e-mail. Send your test to esthetiquestaff@gmail.com. Please do not submit jpgs or pngs only psds.
Editing Test

Proofreaders [CLOSED]
Job Description: Proofread the translations for grammar, word choice, phrasing, spelling, connotations and denotations. Have an excellent command of English and be able to justify and explain each of your changes to the translator. See the Proofreading Guide.
Responsibilities: Proofread the chapters within the week the translations are posted.
Open Projects: You’ll have to be flexible and work on various projects. We’re currently only staff four proofreaders.

Quality Checkers [CLOSED]
Job Description: You will have to fix all the typos, bad cloning, and typesetting sizing errors.
Responsibilities: QC the various projects as chapters get turned in.
To Apply: Take the editing test and the proofreading test. Put together a portfolio of your past work.  Zip up your PSDs in a folder. Upload it to a hoster (i.e. mediafire) or make it an attachment to an e-mail. Send your test to esthetiquestaff@gmail.com.

Scanners [CLOSED]
Job Description: You have to scan your own books. We prefer that you debind, as most of our staff does this to minimize the amount of time an editor must spend on gutter cleaning and cropping. However, it is not necessary.
Responsibilities: Pretty simple ~ you scan mangas that we want to scanlate.
To Apply: Send some scan samples to us!
Looking for: (dpi must be 300 or above!)
